School Council - Spring Term 2026

At our school, we feel that it is so important to give students a voice - so that they are actively involved in the continued improvement and development of their school. This month, Head Student Arjun, his deputies and the Sixth Form Senior House Ambassadors led the School Council meeting for the Spring Term. They did a magnificent job of managing the large group of students to make sure the meeting was constructive.

The agenda was set in advance following conversation in individual form groups about what students would like to talk about. Each form sent their House and Citizenship Ambassador to the meeting, which took place in the dining rooms. Students exchanged views on a range of topics, including:

  • Homework and revision
  • Reading
  • Assemblies
  • Behaviour and safety, including public
  • Reward systems
  • Culture Day and Evening
  • Volunteering and student leadership

Following the meeting, Sixth Form leaders will meet with the Co-Headteachers to feed back student proposals from the session. Next month, we will have more information about the next steps from student proposals. Well done to every student who participated in this important example of student voice in action.
