'Romeo and Juliet' at Shakespeare's Globe
Part of life at Isleworth & Syon School is exposing students to a range of cultural experiences. Our location means that we have very easy access to Central London via train or tube. 17 lucky students in Years 9 and 10 took advantage of this as they headed to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre on the Southbank to watch a production of 'Romeo and Juliet'. For the Year 9s, this educational visit could directly enhance their studies of William Shakespeare's classic play. The Year 10s, meanwhile, are currently reading 'Macbeth' as part of their English Literature GCSE. This, then, was a brilliant way to see Shakespeare's words brought to life in performance.
This was a brilliant production brought 'Romeo and Juliet' in to the modern day - students particularly enjoyed the on-stage bikes! The trip was a fantastic way to help students dig deeper into the meanings behind the text, which will absolutely benefit their studies going forward. Well done to everyone for representing the school in a brilliant way.
