‘I&S Inspires’ is our ongoing series of talks featuring different motivational speakers. The aim of the series is to peel back the curtain behind some of the top career pathways. Previous guests have included BBC journalist Gabriel Gatehouse, former civil servant Simon McDonald, Dr Jamie Frost (creator of Dr Frost Maths) and Status Quo bass player John "Rhino" Edwards. We believe it is very important to offer our students unique opportunities to hear a range of different voices.

The latest I&S Inspires guest was Luke Consiglio, CEO and founder of The Pantry, our caterers in school. Luke is also a former student of Isleworth & Syon, attending from 1997-2001. He spoke to Year 10 students for an hour about his inspirational journey to this point - starting as a small sandwich shop in Hayes before growing to a company that employs 800 people and makes millions of pounds in turnover each year. Luke explained to the students why he was so pleased to give this talk, as he knows the students can relate to him. He discussed how important it is to grab opportunities now, to avoid looking back with regret later. He also talked at length about the importance of work experience, ahead of Year 10 students' five-day placements this July. Students were inspired as he explained that work experience is the first opportunity to step into the real world and engage with people from different walks of life.
