Following the successful DT workshops with Green Dragon at the start of June, our primary outreach programme continued at the end of the month. These sessions are a fantastic way for local boys and girls to experience a taste of life as an Isleworthian, and it is also fantastic for us to give back to our community by offering our superb facilities and expert teaching staff. It was great, then, to welcome Ivybridge Primary School students for a practical science workshop led by Ms Stead and the science team.

During the two hours on site, the primary students learned all about the circulatory system, including the names of key valves and how the organ works. Then, they had the chance to carefully dissect an actual animal heart - once they had been shown the proper safety precautions! It was brilliant as well as see our Year 12 biologists sharing their expertise to the next generation, demonstrating our 'learners as leaders' philosophy in action! It was a fantastic morning for everyone involved.
