Geography Fieldwork (September 2025)

Once geography students reach Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form), their fieldwork studies become much more complex. Last week, Mr McAlinden and Mr McDonald took Year 13 geographers to sunny Cardiff. During the residential trip, the boys studied the city closely, observing important geographical landmarks and features. They explored coastal theory down at Porthcawl and spoke to locals about their surroundings. It was a great opportunity to put their classroom theory into practice!

They also took a walking tour around the beautiful Cardiff Bay, which gave students fascinating insights about the area, including its economic development. Once they got back into the classroom, students wrote it up as a case study that they can refer to in their final examinations in June 2026. The weather was fantastic throughout this visit, and so was the boys’ commitment. Well done to them!
