GCSE Results 2025 - Top Grades

SCIENCE AND MATHS EXCEL WITH YEAR 11 STUDENTS EARNING THE TOP GRADES

21 August 2025, Isleworth –

Students at Isleworth & Syon School are celebrating another year of strong GCSE results. This Year 11 cohort have demonstrated dedication, resilience and ambition, making the school community exceptionally proud. This year’s positive outcomes highlight the school’s academic strength and their commitment to nurturing well-rounded young men. Alongside impressive grades across the curriculum, many students have excelled in enrichment opportunities – from the performing arts to sport and leadership – ensuring they leave Year 11 prepared for the challenges of Sixth Form and beyond.

Within today’s outstanding results are a series of superb individual successes. Jayden Kwok earned nine grades at 9-8, including 9s in all three sciences and maths. Owais Hussain was another great example of the school’s focus on STEM subjects, also achieving straight 9s in the three sciences and maths plus an 8 in engineering. Classmate Ayaan Memon earned 9s in biology, chemistry and physics, plus a catalogue of other top results. Science results across the board were extremely positive, with over half of chemistry grades at either 9 or 8 and over two-thirds of physics students achieving those top two grades. Syon Chatterjee earned nine grades at 9-7 – a fitting reward for an exemplar Isleworthian, always ‘buying in’ to our enrichment like the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze and Silver awards. Meanwhile Hanaan Hussain used public speaking skills honed in the Performing Shakespeare competition as a younger student to earn 8s in English language and English literature, plus seven other top grades. Christopher Edwards is another example of a student committing to Isleworth & Syon’s outstanding opportunities, as a regular representative in school sports like athletics, football and rugby. He did brilliantly in his results, including a superb grade 8 in GCSE PE.

The performing arts continue to play a key role at Isleworth & Syon School. Ayman Shah is one of three students to earn a place at the Purcell School. No other state school has sent three students to Purcell – one of the top music schools in the world – in the same academic year. Ayman was a founding member of a band born at Isleworth & Syon, who recorded a single in a professional recording studio earlier this academic year; his bandmate Ashish Kurian also earned superb results today. Drama remains an area of strength in the school, with 74% of results at 9-4. Both David Ali and Axle Moldero have been a feature of drama productions on the school stage, most recently in ‘Julius Caesar’ and ‘The Odyssey’. They achieved an astonishing 16 grades at 9-7 between them. Their classmate Vanshpreet Singh has also starred on stage, including in ‘Emil and the Detectives’, and achieved brilliant results including nine 9-7s.

Co-Headteachers Simon Fisher and Jo Higginbottom reflected on this year’s outcomes: “We are delighted with the achievements of our Year 11 students. These results reflect their determination to succeed, the expertise of our teaching staff, and the unwavering support from families at home. Our boys have shown that with commitment, hard work and belief, they can reach their potential and grow into confident, capable young men. We look forward to welcoming them into our Sixth Form, where they will continue to thrive as part of our nearly 400-year tradition of excellence.”

The school has recently celebrated outstanding A level results, with Sixth Form students progressing to top Oxbridge and Russell Group universities as well as securing prestigious apprenticeships. These successes underline the exceptional opportunities available at Isleworth & Syon and set a powerful example for this Year 11 cohort. As they move forward into Sixth Form, they will follow in these brilliant footsteps and, in time, join the school’s thriving alumni network of accomplished young men.
