Future Frontiers Programme 2026-27
Future Frontiers (May 2025)
14 selected Year 10s were lucky enough to take part in a coaching programme called Future Frontiers. Over four consecutive weeks, students travelled to London's South Bank to work with coaches from IFF Research, a consultancy firm. Students received one-to-one coaching on their future work plans, which was a fantastic way to get students really thinking about their next steps after education. At the start of the sessions, students had the chance to talk about themselves and their aspirations - it was great to see students embracing this challenge and speaking with passion about their futures.
As the weeks went on, you could see students getting more confident. They explored future careers, completing quizzes to match their skills and values to different pathways - engineers, interior designers and sports coaches to name just three. Then, students looked at different academic pathways after their GCSEs are over, as well as the differences between studying at Sixth Form versus college or workplace programmes. The programme ended on an individual meeting with someone from their selected professional industry - a unique opportunity for students to ask questions and learn more about accessing their preferred industry. Examples included analysts for Liverpool FC, racing car engineers, marketing executives, animal physiotherapist and construction engineers. The students were really inspired by the meetings, and by the course in general! It was an innovative way to inspire students and get them thinking about their futures!
