Film Students Interview Local Librarian for Documentary
This year, Year 12 film students are making a documentary about reading and literacy in schools. This both forms part of their Non-Examined Assessment (NEA) and supports our whole school literacy plan. Last half-term, they interviewed I&S students and staff on the topic, before independently arranging an interview with the head of Hounslow Schools Library Service just down the road at Osterley Library.
As you can see in the photograph right, students filmed the interview - a wide-ranging discussion about changing attitudes to reading across the borough, as well as how in-school and public libraries are finding it more difficult to keep their audience engaged. Students did brilliantly, capturing some fascinating content for their documentary. When creating the project, students have managed the entirety of the pre-production and post-production with minimal staff input, using equipment and software provided by the school. Well done to the three students - we look forward to seeing the finished piece!
