Culture Day 2026
Culture Day 2026
This month, we were thrilled to hold our second annual Culture Day - a celebration of the rich tapestry of traditions that make up our school community. This event is a direct response to student voice, and this year was bigger and better than ever! Led by students, Culture Day activities took place in each curriculum area. Examples included:
- DT students redesigning their programmable music boxes based in their favourite buildings (pictured first above)
- History lessons focused on the terracotta warriors - making them out of clay (pictured second above) or tracing a classmate and then decorating accordingly (pictured third above)
- Geography classes looking at Western monuments, thinking about the cultures they come from
- English focus on African poetry in KS3 lessons
These are just a few examples from this exciting day. Celebrating our diverse community is more than just a one-day event — it is woven into the fabric of who we are. While walking around school, one gained a vibrant reflection of the rich tapestry of cultures that make our school unique; there was a spirit of inclusivity, respect, and global awareness, things which we embrace every day. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped bring this incredible curriculum celebration to life!
