British Science Week

Science Week

The science department arranged a series of exciting activities to celebrate the national British Science Week. This year's theme was 'Curiosity… what’s your question?' - something which is key to many discoveries in science, technology, engineering and maths.

Throughout the week, students in Years 7 & 8 took part in exciting investigates and practicals within their lessons. Key Stage 3 students took part in a whole school treasure hunt while the whole school could investigate displays down the science corridor to 'bust' some science myths and guess the facts about famous scientists! Thursday saw a Year 7 House quiz in the hall which was fiercely competed! During all this, Year 12 students got involved with a recycling challenge - working in groups of three to investigate and make something from their own recycling. As if that was not enough, there was also a form time quiz and a competition to design a poster to show children and young people’s visions for a good/positive childhood! The deadline is 16 April; the top entries will be submitted into the British Science Poster Competition. Well done to everyone who took part
