Badminton - Key Stage 3 Borough Champions
KS3 Badminton
Following the Key Stage 4 borough victory from two weeks ago, the Key Stage 3 team had a lot to live up to as they took part in the competition against other Hounslow schools. We are delighted to report that our ‘A’ team were crowned borough champions once again. It was, in fact, an all-Isleworth & Syon final, with our ‘B’ team finishing as close runners-up.
We sent five teams to the event, and all boys performed well. Other local schools were vanquished along the way, with particularly impressive victories over The Green School for Boys and Nishkam School. This all led to the final, all-I&S battle. It was a close-fought game, and at various points it could have gone either way! In the end, the 'A' team were victorious and came away with the trophy. Congratulations to the winning team (L-R above): Miguel Ponchio Lamenza (9Sh), Mikkel Malhi (9Am), Finn Barnes (9Tr), Jay Byrepalli (9Am).
We must give huge credit to the 'B' team who were brilliant throughout: Harry Fisher (9Br), Arshnoor Singh Jassal (9Br), Leo Marcantoni (9Sh) and Aryan Rajan (9Am). The second picture in the gallery shows the ‘A’ and ‘B’ team together after the gripping final. We also want to mention the Year 10 ambassadors who assisted with the event – they were a huge credit to the school and themselves. This was a fantastic example of school spirit on full display, as well as the strength of badminton at Isleworth & Syon School.
