One of our favourite events in the school year is our Year 7 Induction Assembly. This year’s celebration took place on Friday 6 December, with parents/carers invited into school to witness their son/ward’s induction into the school community. With this assembly, students officially became ‘Inductees’, taking their next step along the Isleworth & Syon way.
The hour-long assembly saw us look back at the last three months, reflecting on the boys’ ups and downs of a term at Isleworth & Syon. For each house, student representatives talked about their journey, and all of the boys spoke well. It was excellent to hear the boys thanks their tutors and teachers for continual support since September.
Then, each student received an individual Inductee award, either Gold, Silver or Bronze. It was lovely to see students wearing their medals with pride – not just for the rest of the assembly, but the rest of the school day! We love our students’ pride at being part of the Isleworth & Syon family.
The assembly was punctuated with a special treat for the large audience of parents/carers – a performance of ‘Jingle Bells’ featuring every single Year 7 student. It was a sweet performance which whetted the appetite for the Christmas Concert the following week. Great enthusiasm from the group!
Now that the boys have progressed to Inductees, the hard work must continue. As our biggest Year 7 cohort ever, there are a lot of eyes on this group to continue the Isleworth & Syon tradition of success, whether that’s through an academic path, or the arts, or sport, or indeed something else. Based on the evidence of this assembly, this group is very talented – and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
