We were delighted this summer to seal a deal with coach company New Bharat to sponsor our first XV rugby kit for the 2019-20 season. The company’s logo is emblazoned on brand new jerseys, shorts and warm-up tops, as you can see from the photograph above. We are very pleased to create this new partnership, the first of its kind for the school, in order to support a local business within the community. The new kit has been in action twice already, despite us only being in the second week of term. Indeed, the opening match took place on Saturday 7 September despite the boys only being back in school for a single full day! However, the boys’ pre-season training left them raring to go and they begun with an outstanding 66-17 win over St Ignatius. Last Wednesday saw match two and also the second win, with a 43-10 victory over Orleans Park in the first round of national under-18 competition, the NatWest Vase. Mr Mullins, the team’s coach, says that the team have already begun to gel nicely, with a mixed group of students from Years 11-13. The boys are ambitious in their pursuit of improvement and development, which bodes well for the season ahead. The boys will look to better the achievements of last year’s first XV, who reached the county plate semi-final.
