Isleworth & Syon School is delighted to confirm an exciting partnership with London Scottish FC, one of our local professional rugby teams. Currently London Scottish play in the Green King IPA Championship, the second tier of English rugby.
This new partnership aims to build on our current rugby programme and provide pathways for our players to take their game to the highest possible level. We also look forward to welcoming new players to our Sixth Form as they seek to develop their own game within an academically high-achieving school.
“We are really thrilled to launch this exciting partnership with London Scottish,” said Headteacher Euan Ferguson in a statement. “Extra-curricular opportunities are a key part of the culture of our school and we are proud of our long-established sporting traditions. The positive links between physical activity, academic success and well-being are well known and for this reason, we will always provide such life-enhancing opportunities for our students. Rugby has always been one of our main sports and we look forward to developing young talent through this new link.”

Aspirational and ambitious with the first team playing in the Greene King Championship but also a club that serves and support the community through coaching delivery and related initiatives in schools and organisations.
As part of the rugby development programme that starts at the minis (U6 to U11) through the junior boys and girls (U12 to U18) up to senior rugby we have a number of initiatives that makes the club both an inclusive rugby club, but also a club that help give talented players and coaches the opportunity to develop further.
One of the initiatives is partnering with schools to deliver rugby and sports coaching through our community team. We also partner with secondary schools to support the growth of their rugby programmes and the focus is to give talented players the opportunity to enter our junior academy programme at the club.
We have with great success, introduced the Education & Rugby Partnerships, in Hayes School, Bromley. We are delighted to announce the addition of Isleworth & Syon School, Isleworth as our newest partnership.
The ERPs are designed to give a player a great opportunity to play good rugby at school and study BTEC course or A levels at the school’s Sixth Form. The best of both worlds!
London Scottish Rugby Director Corne du Rand said: “We are very excited about this partnership with Isleworth & Syon. We know players will benefit from being at this fantastic school in West London and that it will benefit their rugby at school and club, but also that they will get top education, which is so important in life! We are looking forward to work with the staff in build lasting relationships and also to work with the students to help their development as people and as rugby players!”
