Following on from their borough success in November, both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 badminton teams took part in the West London Finals at Harrow Leisure Centre on Friday 3 February. Isleworth & Syon possess an enviable reputation locally due to our fantastic record in these competitions, so the pressure was on for the boys to live up to the school name. The boys certainly did us proud over the course of the competition, which saw the two teams competing against the best schools in West London.
The tournament was held round robin-style, with each of our teams in a group with three others. We were delighted as both teams emerged victorious from their groups, and comprehensively too – neither team lost a match throughout the day. Isleworth & Syon’s domination was a joy to behold, a testament to the hard work put in on a weekly basis by both the boys and their coach, Miss George. The boys will now progress to the London Finals, which take place at Crystal Palace on Wednesday 22 March.
