On Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 September 2013, fifty-five Year 11 students visited Cuckmere Haven in the South Downs for a field trip as part of their GCSE Geography curriculum.
The students took part in field work investigating river flood management, specifically who was responsible for overseeing the river, and the measures that had been put in place to stop flooding in future. The students constructed a questionnaire and survey, and also undertook a field sketch in order to complete a comprehensive study of the area.
Feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, and Ms. Lawler, who oversaw the trip, was very impressed with the boys’ enthusiasm and dedication throughout their time in Cuckmere. This trip was incorporated into the group’s GCSE coursework, with overall grades being very good. Best of luck in the examination to all those who participated!
